Gun Safety and the 2nd Amendment

February 18th, 2022

One of the most asked questions I get while campaigning is my stance on the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment isn’t about the firearms or the technology at any given time; it is the principle that we as Americans have the absolute right to defend ourselves, our families, and our way of life.

Gun control does nothing to stop evil or violence. Studies show that a vast majority of shootings take place in “gun free zones”. When we take away the ability for good people to defend themselves, we make them targets.

This is our evening as a family. My daughter and I spend countless hours not only shooting, but breaking down our firearms, cleaning them, and constantly drilling the importance of safety. With great rights come great responsibilities, and it’s up to us to ensure that we are teaching our children the necessary fundamentals that come with firearm ownership and shooting.

This is what the 2nd Amendment is to me:

It’s not just a fall hunt, clay shooting tournament, or the excitement of sighting in a new rifle….

It’s teaching the lifestyle that goes along with every principle that is our 2nd Amendment.

The Hearthstone Oven

#SmallTownSaturday !!!

Donna and I have been on the move ALL DAY! It was cold and very windy but we made the best of it and spent our morning and afternoon in Ithaca and Alma knocking doors, talking to voters, and visiting small businesses! What a great time!

Folks we live in the best communities in the nation. Small towns with amazing small businesses.

We stopped for lunch at The Hearthstone Oven . Our server Brooke was fantastic! Our meals were absolutely delicious and we even snagged a couple of cookies for later.

Later on in Alma we made sure to stop by and see our friends at Ralph's Pawn & Gun and Hannah's Rock and Gem . It was great talking with Ralph and his customer about what makes our small town communities so amazing, and of course we talked guns! Donna did some shopping as well.

Folks we live in the best communities in the nation. Small towns with amazing small businesses. Our local communities are supported by the hard working, blue collar folks that live here, as well as these dedicated small business owners.

It’s important that these communities have the fighter they deserve in Lansing, and I am up for the task.

A Long Day

A Long Day

February 8th, 2022

Day started at 6:30am it’s now almost 11:20pm. Packing up my bag to make the 1.5 hour trip home… Long day in Lansing.

Meetings, inspections, and tons of field work trying to get this development up to par.

A lot riding on this project. A lot of families in a large community depending on a constructive outcome to our ongoing work. They need it, they deserve it.

Failure is not an option, and I will never be outworked. Whether it’s on a job site, on the campaign trail, or working as your Representative.

When I am in Lansing I will continue to work hard for you, your family, our community and our future.

Family Lunch

Erin, Donna, & I went to The Shepherd Depot Auction this afternoon at the Shepherd Bar & Restaurant !

Lunch was fantastic and the service was great even though they were slammed busy with the auction!
